Acknowledgments

YouThrive was developed by four non-profit health organizations:

  • Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario (CMHA Ontario) is a provincial, non-profit organization, committed to promoting mental health and improving services and support for individuals with mental illness and their families. We achieve our mission through public education, knowledge transfer, research and analysis of public issues, and advocating for healthy public policy and an effective and efficient health system.
  • Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital. CAMH is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, and is a Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)/World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre. CAMH combines clinical care, research, education, policy and health promotion to transform the lives of people affected by mental health and addiction issues. Our central facilities are located in Toronto, Ontario, and we have offices across the province to provide support to the mental health and addiction systems.
  • Ontario Lung Association (OLA) is among Canada’s longest standing, most respected not-for-profit health promotion organizations. OLA is a leader in the prevention and control of chronic lung disease, asthma, tobacco cessation and prevention, and air quality and its effects on lung health. We support health professionals through the provision of training, patient education resources and by investing in respiratory health research.
  • Ophea is a not-for-profit organization led by the vision that all kids value, participate in, and make a lifelong commitment to healthy, active living. Since 1921, Ophea has been working in partnership with school boards, public health, government, non-government organizations, and private sector companies to develop the health and education of children and youth through the provision of programs and services that promote healthy schools and healthy communities.

Reviewers: We would like to thank the 68 educators, youth peer educators, public health units, and community partner organizations from across Ontario who were involved in the review of YouThrive.
